Subject: Bills 78, 79 and 80
Aloha,
As taxpayers, we would like to add our voices in support of the upcoming Bills: 78, 79 and
80.
First, we fully support Bill 78 to be considered by the Committee on Finance establishing a
Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Fund, and providing a
dedicated source of revenue (2% of annual property taxes).
Secondly, we also support Bill 79 which will authorize a $10 million bond float to buy and
presence open space.
Finally, we also support Bill 80, being considered by the Committee on Planning, which
will prevent future subdivisions that are not really agricultural from being built on agricultural
land (unless rezoned).
These issues are vital to the county of Hawaii.
