RE: STRONG SUPPORT OF Bi1178 J
Aloha. My name is Ku Kahakalau and my family and I are residents of Kuku_iiael~'
located right above Waipi'o Valley in Hamakua.
i am testifying in strong support of Bill 78, which will establish a Public Access. Chen
Space and Natural Resources Preservation Fund. In addition, this bill will provide a
dedicated source of revenue by utilizing 2% of annual property taxes.
On an island with obviously limited resources and seemingly uncontrolled growth, It ~s
essential that we reserve areas for public use as well as areas necessary for the
rejuvenation of Hawai'i's precious resouces
Me ke aloha nui,
Ku Kahakalau. Ph.D.
