Re: Acceptance of Donations
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization
procedures of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its
approval, we request the Council's approval of the following donations:
Monetary Donations, totaling $2,218, to the Department of Parks 8~ Recreation, to be
used for the care of the squirrel monkeys that reside in the South American exhibit
at the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo, by:
$10 Ann Staggemeier 2542 Date Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96826;
$55 Mary Katherine Carlstead, 624 A-1 Kalolina Street, Kailua, Hawaii 96743;
$20 EnviroWatch Inc., P.O. Box 89-3062, Mililani, Hawaii 96789;
$20 Patricia Shields, 6605 Kahena Place, Honolulu, Hawaii 96825;
$2,113 Various individuals (Names/addresses not available).
Two (2) monetary donations of $100 each to the Department of Parks & Recreation,
to cover expenses of the Recreation Division's Annual Biggest Easter Egg Hunt, by
Kandi's Drive Inn, Inc., 56 W. Kawailani Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 and by Mr. Wayne
Fukunaga, Fukunaga Electrical, P.O. Box 4189, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, respectively.
A monetary donation of $50 to the Department of Parks & Recreation, to be used
towards programs at the Waimea Community Center, by West Hawaii InterGroup,
P.O. Boz 5135, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745.
A monetary donation of $60 to the Department of Parks & Recreation, to be used
towards programs at the Mt. View Gym, by W.H. Shipman, P.O. Box 950, Kea`au,
Hawaii 96749. Comm. No. 2 3 4
