RE: WILLIAM SMITH
Dear Mr. Chairman:
I am a deputy prosecuting attorney for the County of Hawaii and would like to
correct a misstatement that was made at the confirmation hearing for William Smith. A
Mr. Coco indicated that Mr. Smith had prosecuted an individual by the name of Dale
Pranke for trespass. This is factually incorrect as I was the deputy prosecuting attorney
that was assigned to review the matter regarding Mr. Pranke and I was the one that
charged him with simple trespass.
Mr. Smith was not involved in any way with that matter.
Thank you very much for your attention to this matter and for confirming Mr.
Smith for Deputy County Clerk. Mr. Smith is a very hardworking, conscientious
individual, who desires to do the best job for those he serves.
