Dear County Council Members:
I will be unavailable to provide oral testimony at the confirmation hearing for Mr.
William Smith on April 20, 2005 for the position of Deputy County Clerk. Therefore, I
am writing this letter in support of Mr. William Smith's appointment to the position. If
you have any questions that you wish me to orally answer, please feel free to contact me
at 961-0466.
I have known Mr. Smith for approximately seven (7) years as we are both Deputy
Prosecuting Attorneys for the County of Hawaii. During this time, I have known Mr.
Smith to be a dedicated attorney. I anticipate that as Deputy County Clerk, Mr. Smith
will work hard, work efficiently, and work with passion. For these reasons, I support his
nomination for the position of Deputy County Clerk.
