Re: Asking for support of Bill 53
and Comm. 189 (Res. 68-OS)
April 15, 2005
Aloha Councilmen:
I ask you to support the following bills:
Comm. 189 (Res. 68-OS) Why would anyone say "no" to preparirc~__"
an EIS for the Suoerferrv a potentially extremely high-impac^~
operation? Marine life, traffic, military presence, invasive
species...the questions persist and should be dealt with before
Superferry gets a "green light"! The balance of Hawaii~i's
culture, society and environment depend upon sufficient research
done to insure that the future will not be scarred by this new
form of transport between islands.
Bill 53 This bill would provide S500,000 of County funding tc_.
coastal land acquisition at Honu aoo. Endangered species incluairig
monk seals and sea turtles play here. What better place to
preserve for future generations in its natural, pristine
condition?
Mahalo for your attention and support for these important issue:;.
Best regards,
Janice Palma-Glennie
