Subject: Communication 204 -Resolution 76-OS -Philanthropic Assessment for Parks
and Public Lands Proposal
Deaz Council Members,
I am writing in support of your consideration of Ms. Same Tokumura of Solid Concepts,
Inc. as a possible consultant for your Philanthropic Assessment for Pazks and Public
Lands.
I have had the privilege of working with Ms. Sanae Tokumura as she was contracted as a
consultant for the Hospice of Hilo Capital Campaign and the Hawaii Veteran's Home
Million -Million Campaign. Both campaigns were very successful in large part to the
professional services offered by Ms. Tokumura.
In both campaigns, Ms. Tokumura interviewed community leaders and individuals to
provide the assessments requved to map out a strategic plan. As Chairman of the Hospice
of Hilo Campaign and Co-Chair of the Community Liaison Committee -Hawaii
Veteran's Home Campaign, we were able to successfully implement the strategic plans
with detailed training from Ms. Tokumura and continued guidance throughout the
process. She works diligently with enthusiasm and a great compassion for the people of
the Big Island.
She has proven to be an invaluable resource to our Big Island Community. I know that
she will be an asset to the Hawaii County Council in implementing your Philanthropic
plans.
