Subject: Bill 74: Amends Ordinance No. 04-75, as Amended, Relating to Public
Improvements and Financing Thereof for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2004 to June 30,
2005. {Adds POLICE: Microwave Relocation and System Renovation
($1,183,805); funds to be provided from General Fund and/or Other Sources
($1,183,805)}
At our County Council meeting held on April 20, 2005, Bill 74 was "postponed" pending
additional information from your Department. Assistant Chief Elroy Osorio and Accountant
Kay Nishibayashi were present and answered questions that were raised by the Council Members
relating to cost overruns and increases on the project's construction design at the two sites.
I-Iowever, at the last Finance Committee meeting held on April 5, 2005, Chair Virginia Isbell had
requested additional information relating to the costs, which still needed to be provided.
Ms. Nishibayashi stated that she did receive the cost figures from the contractor, but was unable
to review this information prior to this Council meeting.
We await Ms. Nishibayashi's review of the figures and upon receipt of this information, we will
re-agendize Bill 74 on the next available Council meeting.
