Re: Appointment of William Smith as Deputy County Clerk
Dear Chairman Higa & Members of the Hawaii County Council:
7 am writing this letter to offer my support for the appointment of William Smith to the
position of Deputy County Clerk for the County of Hawaii.
I worked with 13111 prior to my retirement as a District Court judge in Hilo and as a `
volmteer representing juvenile offenders in Family Court. 1 have always fotmd him to be bard
working end professional in his job. He also has a sense of justice and faimcss which has made
him as excellent prosecutor.
1 am confident that Bill will be a credit to the County of Hawaii if he is appointed tye)xlty
County Clerk. He will perform this job with competence, dignity and style. I most strongly urge
you to confum his appointment.
