Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Bill No. 65, reports as follows:
Bill No. 65, transmitted by Council Member Bob Jacobson, via Communication No. 177, dated
March L5, 2005, amends Chapter 2, Article 27, Section 2-153, Hawaii County Code 1983.
relating to revisions of the County Code.
The purpose of this measure is to change the duties of preparing the supplements to the Hawaii
Cowity Code to the County Clerk rather than the Corporation Counsel Technological
developments and the improved records management system allow the County Clerk to maintain
the Hawaii County Code. Given these developments and the amendments to the Code made
over the years, the County Cow~cil also authorizes republication of the Code.
Also, this measure amends the Code use to gender neutral teens when referring to both genders.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 65 and
recommends it pass first reading.
