Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 64-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 64-05, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaha, via Communication
No. 180, dated March 15, 2005, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year for amulti-year Icase of real property.
The Hawaii County Fire Department wishes to enter into amulti-year lease for two years for
off ice space in Na'alehu to serve as a base of operations for an advanced life support ambulance
unit. With the current site's lease set to expire on May 31, 2005, the Fire Department was able to
locate a new location that is more suitable for its delivery of services. funds would be budgeted
in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the approloriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year be approved by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 64-OS
and recommends its adoption.
