This is to request the following amendment to Bill 65.

eectrtse!] Semiannually. the County clerk shall prepare for publication aloose-leaf
supplement to the [~Iawai-i] Hawai`i County Code. The supplement shall contain all
ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted subsequent to the last revision,
republication, or supplement to the ~Havuaii] Hawaii County Code."
Upon further review of the other counties' code fees and timeframe for supplements, it was
found that the industry standard for preparing and distributing supplements is semiannually
rather than quarterly. Quarterly supplements generate a lot of paper and replacement work for
very busy private and government offices. It is felt that semi-annual supplements are reasonable
given the new policy to update the website soon after legislation is adopted.
