RESOLUTION NO. 96 (ZS RESOLUTION CREATING A PLANNER V POSITION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING WHEREAS, the Department of Planning is starting the community development plans to implement the revised General Plan that was adopted recently by the Hawaii County Council; and WHEREAS, the initial community development plan will be for the North and South Kona districts; and WHEREAS, the creation of a Planner V, SR-24 position in their West Hawaii Office, will enable the Department to have the primary contact for this project located in West Hawaii; WHEREAS, this position's duties include the coordination and implementation of community development plans and the processing of permit applications; and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the Department of Planning's Regular Salaries and Wages account (010-141-5141.01-011); and WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...fortyhich appropriations have been made by the council...". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that a Planner V, SR-24, position be created in the Department of Planning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there are sufficient funds in the Department of Planning`s Regular Salaries and Wages account (010-141-5141.01-011). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Departments of Finance, Civil Service, and Planning. Dated at xilo , Nawai`i, this 1st day of June , 2005.
