program sponsored Through the County Senior Centers.
(hik 7.1.1 percent of all eligible utters in the County ofHawai'i arc registered to vote. Ofthese
regi,icred voters, onh 39.3 percent voted in the 2004 Primary F?leclion, wish 67 percent voting in the
Gena~al I~:Icction. Registering more eligible citizens to vote and educating Them regarding the various
aspects of the voting process and issues will enable more citizens to exercise their voting rights and to
participate in the clcclion process.

Concerns ~~crc raised by Councilmemhers Hulschuh and Ikeda regarding the practical implementation of
the plan and the cooperation of ell agencies involved. Councilmcmbcr I lul"fmann assured the Committee
that he had prrx~nalk spoken m the agencies, and all agencies indicated a conuniunem to the project.
Your Conuniuec on Public Salch and Parks and Recreation is in accord ilh the purpose and intent of
Resolution 79-05. and recommends its adoption.
