Re: Bill No. 102 -Pahoa Neighborhood Skateboard Park
Dear Councilmember Safarik:
Thank you for the opportunity to review and provide comments on Bill 102 to amend the
capital budget by appropriating $90,000 for the Puna Neighborhood Skateboard Park. I
understand that this money is to be used to purchase equipment and fund part of the cost of
the construction of a skateboard park in Pahoa. I also understand that a community group will
be assisting in this project.
1 have discussed this with the Department of Parks and Recreation, and they have no
objections to this worthwhile project. The necessary funds have been set aside from the
Council Contingency Relief account and from excess fimd balance in Bill 40, Draft 6.
Therefore, I support Bill 102.
Again, I thank you for the opportunity to provide comments on your proposal
