No. 226Bi11 No. 85 PLACE: Council Chambers "TIME: 9:04 a.m. Council Chair and Members I Iawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on finance, to which was referred Bill No. 85, reports as follows: Bill No. 85, transmitted by Director ofPinance William Takaba, via Communication No. 226, dated April 12, 2005, amends Ordinance No. 04-75, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending June 30, 2005, by adding the following project: PUBLIC WORKS: Waipi`o Valley Stream Debris Removal 110-299-5293.08 $50,000 Funds for these projects shall be provided from: Federal Grants Receivable $50,000 Funds will be used to remove the debris from the streams in Waipi`o Valley that were deposited by the April 2004 flood. The debris, if left in the stream, might reroute the stream flow in future storms, causing damage to homes. The Natural Resources Conservation Service, a branch of the Department of Agriculture, is paying 75 percent of the cost of this project. "the County, in the form of in-house services, will provide the remaining 25 percent of the cost. Pursuant to Section 10-6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget for that year with atwo-thirds vote.
