Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 85-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 85-05, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 87 by Director of Finance William
Takaba, via Communication No. 228, dated April 12, 2005, authorizes the acceptance of a
donation from the Kona Coast Resort.
The Kona Coast Resort has graciously donated $500 to the Hawaii County Police Department's
Special Response Team in appreciation of their services. This donation will benefit the Kona
Community and its visitors.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charier, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Craig A. Leeper, C.H.A., Kona Coast Resort, Shell
Management Hawaii, Inc., 78-6842 Ali`i Drive, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740, acknowledging
this generous donation.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 85-05
and recommends its adoption.
