Thank you for the very visionary Bill 78 to keep at least par[
of [he island in perpetuity for those who follow us! 1 am proud
that some of my taxes will be guaranteed [o go to such aworthwhile
cause. -i
In view of reservations on Bill 78 from within the county government,
1 would suggest consideration of an amendment: If in a given year the _
funds donated for such land aquisilion by private sources exceeds the
amount from the 2% set-aside, [hen in the following fiscal year the
tax set aside may be reduced by 50°/a. i'his will allow the private
sector fonds [o be tapped without paying to study [he feasibility, nor to suffer
unpredictable delay in this valuable program while a study drags on.
