Aloha All Council Members,
Again, 1 am urging your support of Bill 78.
You and you alone have the powerful opportunity to create a legacy of land protection that our aina is
begging for.
Are you listening? Not to me perhaps, but to the aina itself. As development encroaches all around us
and East and West Hawaii alike are experiencing a kind of "urban sprawl," I have no assurances at all
that there will be wide open spaces, beaches, and forests for my children, and their children to explore. I
have no assurances that the land that our visitors come to see will be intact in years to come.
But YOU can grant these assurances.
"Chic is not about the money. This has GOT to be abouC the land, about your integrity, your moral values
and your desire to truly do the right thing.
The right thing is passage of Bill 78.
