Subject: support bill 78
Dear Council Members,
I would like to see you give complete support to Bill 78 which will put 2% of our tax money aside for
protection and purchase of "open space" special natural resources. We need to protect as much of
Hawaii as we can. WE have lost so much of our beloved lands that anything we can preserve should be
kept in the hands of Hawaii. Many of our lands are now held by Federal and "conservancy" groups.
Hawaii should be in charge of our so very special natural resources ourselves. We should be stewards
and use our own people (adults and youth) to manage our lands. WE need our own dollars to buy the
lands for our protection. PLEASE help BILL 78 be put into action.
I am a second generation islader who has always been awed by the beauty and uniqueness of our
diverse eco-systems. No where else in the world. My heart felt mahalo nui loa if we can get this Bill
to pass. We need to take action Now!
