County Council
AGRICULTURAL PROJECT DISTRICT APPLICATION
APPLICANT SEAMOUNT ENTERPRISES dba KA'AWALOA ORCHARDS
I would first like to say, for the record, that I am NOT opposed to this APD and would like to see
it become a successful endeavor. I signed an agreement which states that I would not object to a
rezoning or subdivision of Mr- Nome's "other property" makai of the one I live and he was kind
enough to remind me of that this past week by saying I might want my lawyer to check this out.
The APD is not the problem here, it is the use of words and statements that seem to mean one
thing but the intent behind them may mean something else. A question concerning increased
traffic through the APD road from other adjacent subdivisions is reassuringly answered by saying
there won't be any further subdivisions, not being told that they already exist and will access the
road through the APD. Assuring letters are sent to county officials stating that the road will end
in a cul de sac with no stubout and no road connecting to it. Then the council is told that is not
what they `really' mean- Mr. Nome asked the county and received approval for a subdivision,
adjacent to this proposed APD, showing Ka'awaloa Rd. as his planned access road, but tells us
that is not his intent.
Decisions must be made with accurate and reliable information. I moved here three months ago,
my long term plan of maintaining a viable orchard in a rural setting was based in part on
information that now seems nebulous and inaccurate. I am here to voice my concerns and
provide information so that the council can make good judgments that have long term benetits
for the people and the county.
