re Bill 103 -Naming the playground at Lincoln Park.
I would like to express my support for naming the playground area at
Lincoln Park in honor of the late Dr. Ruth Oda -
Dr. Oda touched the lives of many generations of children in Hawaii
County. She dedicated her life to caring for the children of families -
from all parts of the island and from all walks of life. Her love of _
singing children's songs will always be etched in the memory of many _
children and parents who have visited her office at one time or another.
Dr. Oda's office was located right next to Lincoln Park and it would be
very fitting to name the playground area in her honor The children who
use the playground area at Lincoln Park represent the all the children
that Dr. Oda treated with loving care and devotion. Future generations
of children will be reminded and inspired of the dedicated service Dr.
Oda has given to the community.
I encourage the Hawaii County Council to give favorable consideration to
Bill 103 to name the playground area at Lincoln Park in honor of Dr.
Ruth Oda.
