Re: Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women
Teen Dafing Violence Prevention Training
[ write this letter in support of funding for the Teen Dating Violence Prevention funding request
by the Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women. This initiative is not only to educate
young women, buCatso teenaged boys and girls, parents, teachers, judges, attorneys, doctors,
police, and the community at large, on the problem of teen dating violence.
Kecognition of the need for this training is relatively new to our society and community of
professionals es well as our teachers and parents. It is indeed an opportune time to become ~
involved and make changes in how we respond to this neglected issue. Education is crucial to
our teens on what are appmpriate behavior and criminal consequences of adverse actions.
