Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 260, reports as follows:
Communication No. 260, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated
April 28, 2005, authorizes the acceptance of donation from the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort
and Spa.
The Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa has graciously donated $10,590 to the Department of
Public Works to help defray the expense for materials to pave `T;hukai Street in Keauhou.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or
gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, shall
be submitted to the Council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will he sent to the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa, Mr. Charldon
L Thomas, General Manager, 78-128 `Ehukai Street, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, 96740,
acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the $10,590 donation from the
Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa.
