RESOLUTION NO. ~
A RESOLUTION CELEBRATING "100 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY."
WHEREAS, on July 6, 1905, the Territorial Legislature adopted Act 39, the "County
Act," which created the counties of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Kalawao, and Hawaii, and
WHEREAS, throughout the past one hundred years, our County has been blessed
with dedicated, hardworking employees who have, in the spirit of aloha, often gone beyond
the call of duty to provide services and help to our residents; and
WHEREAS, the many achievements of our County are a reflection of the
resourcefulness and diligence of our employees and residents; and
WHEREAS, in honor of the 100 years of public service, the County of Hawaii is
preparing a historical exhibit featuring 100 years of accomplishments of the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it supports Mayor Harry Kim's proclamation naming July 6, 2005, as
"100 Years of Service to the Community Day."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as part of this celebration, the County Council
invites residents to the "100 Years Of Service to the Community" historical exhibit on July
6, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the Aupuni Center at 101 Pauahi Street.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED THAT the County Clerk transmit copies of this
resolution to the Ilonorable Mayor Harry Kim and all County departments and agencies.
