Kim is likely to sign and that will put almost as much into buying open space as the original hills, at
Icast this year.
The bond fund, Bill 79, has been increased to $13 million vs. $10 million in the old version, while
dropping the requirement of BILL, 78 that 2 percent of real property tax revenue be used. Instead, BILL
78 appropriates at least $250,000 from each year's operating budget into a public access, open space and
natural resource preservation fund.
A big Mahalo to those Councilmembers who supported the original bills with the 2% property tax
