Subject: Hiring of Taxi Investigator
As we discussed, I was informed last week that the transit
agency can now hire an investigator to look into alleged
violations by taxi operators. Staff is currently compiling
a list of allegations the Transportation Commission has
moved to investigate. After compiling the list, they will
be forwarded to investigators in East and West Hawaii.
I have discussed this matter with Deputy Corporation Counsel
Fred Giannini and Transportation Commission Chairman Tracey
Lauder, and they will be working with the transit agency to
determine a more expeditious manner in which to handle
complaints.
