Re: Acceptance of Donations
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which authorizes
the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance
shall be submitted to the council by letter far its approval, we request the Council's approval of the
following donations:
A monetary donation of $100 to the Department of Parks 8 Recreation, to be used towards
programs at the Panaewa Rainforest Zoo, by the Bay Area Horticultural Society, 6556
Shattuck Avenue, Oakland, California 94609, in gratitude for the special botanical tour in
February 2005.
A monetary donation of $30 to the Department of Parks & Recreation, to be used for
cemetery maintenance and improvements for the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery, by Mrs.
Lorraine Thompson, 1097 Kulamao Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donors.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.
