RE: Resolution Abolishing the Finance Subcommittee on Technology and
Communications, Authorizing the Establishment of the Finance
Subcommittee on Technology and Telecommunications, and Appointing
Council Member Gary Safarik as Chair
Enclosed for your consideration is a proposed Resolution abolishing the Finance
Subcommittee on Technology and Communications, authorizing the establishment of the
Finance Subcommittee on Technology and Telecommunications, and appointing Council
Member Gary Safarik as Chair. The purpose of the Subcommittee is to serve as a liaison
between the Council and the Administration on technology infrastructure projects and
other issues, with a particular emphasis ~on issues related to the Police Communication
System.

RE: Communication No._338 Resolution No. 126-OS :for Council's
authorization to abolish the Finance Subcommittee on Technology and
Communications, authorize the establishment of the Finance Subcommittee on
Technology and Telecommunications, and appointing Council Member Gary Safarik
as Chair.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Kule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the
County of Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the
above-referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full
Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is
crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter
placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, l understand the matter shall be referred to
the Committee on Finance for placement on its future agenda.
