On August 4, 2004, the Council adopted Resolution No. 217-04 authorizing the exchange of Lot 6 of
"Crossroads" situate at Lanihau 1s`, North Kona, Hawaii for a specific property in Kealakekua, South
Kona to be utilized as the site of a new police station, and the repeal of Resolution No. 241-00 which
had previously authorized the sale of Lot 6. However, exchange for the Kealakekua site may not
materialize and the disposition of Lot 6 by sale or exchange would facilitate the acquisition of other
parcels of land identified by the County of Hawaii as desirable for public use.
Enclosed is a resolution, which authorizes the Finance Director to sell, transfer or exchange, in fee
simple, Lot 6 of "Crossroads", in a manner consistent with the applicable sections of Chapter 2,
Article 19, Real Property Disposition, Hawaii County Code arrd the repeal of Resolution No. 217-04.
To expedite this matter, we request a waiver from the Financf: Committee and to have this
resolution heard at the Council meeting scheduled for July 7, 2005.

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawai "i.
this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the
Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely
approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the
next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I
understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on Finance for placement on its future agenda.
