RESOLT,JTION NO. 130 05
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAJOR OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO
AMEND THE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION 'TO THE STATE'S HOUSING AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORA'T'ION OF HAWAII FOR THE HOME
INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the County is a recipient of the HOME Investment
Partnerships (HOME) Program from the State's Housing and
Community Development Corporation of Hawaii (HCDCH); and
WHEREAS, the Office of HOUSing and Community Development
anticipates the HCDCH to award the County of Hawaii an
additional $500,000 of HOME Program funds; and
WHEREAS, the County has unexpended balances of $811,804.57
from cancelled and completed HOME projects; and
WHEREAS, it is required by the HCDCH that the County must
amend and submit program descriptions for the use of $500,000 of
additional funds and $811,804.57 of unexpended balances for a
total of $1,311,804.57; and
WHEREAS, a timely submission of the program descriptions
for HOME funds, in accordance with appropriate federal
regulations, is necessary; and
WHEREAS, it is required by the HCDCH that the County of
Hawaii submit certifications assuring conformance to related
rules, regulations and laws of the HOME Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII, that the attached program descriptions are hereby
adopted and the Mayor of the County of Hawaii or, in his
absence, the Acting Mayor or authorized representative, is
hereby authorized to amend the program descriptions to the
State's Housing and Community Development Corporation of
Hawai i .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County shall utilize the
HOME funds in accordance with program rules and regulations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor or, in his absence,
the Acting Mayor or authorized representative, is designated to
act as the representative of the County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Office of Housing and Community Development.
