SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT o
KALANIANAOLESTREET
Proposed no parking zone
The Leleiwi Community Association requests that parking be prohibited along the entire mauka side of
Kalanianaole Street. The Department of Public Works and the Hawaii Police Department supports the
association's proposal, as it will improve overall traffic and pedestrian safety.
We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article lQ, Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (no parking at
anytime) under Hilo be amended as described in the attached draft for an ordinance.
Under separate cover, we are transmitting the proposed ordinance to the Public Works Committee Chair
for introduction.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you have any
