Aloha Chairman Higa & members of the Council:
[t appears as if these three agenda items are related and represent the initial steps toward the acquisition
of "Honl's" property at Wai?ha for a public beach park. If this is the case, I want to offer my strong
support for such an effort.
With respect to both resolutions, I would also strongly suggest that you amend the "Be it further
resolved" sections of each reso by including a proviso with specific language to ensure that any
proceeds from the sale or exchange of these properties be restricted for the acquisition of the Wai?
aha property for a public beach park. Resolution 217-04, which you are proposing to rescind, voided
an earlier resolution, also regarding Lot 6 at Crossroads. That earlier resolution, which I sponsored,
contains the kind of specific language which ] believe is necessary to ensure that the proceeds can only
be used toward the acquisition, which appears to be your goal.

important pieces of legislation to bring the Wai?aha land back into the public domain where it should be
