In 2004, the State Legislature appropriated funds to compensate the County ohl Iawai'i
and the other three counties iiir issuing parking placards under the Statewide Program
on Parking Ibr Persons with Disabilities. Previously, the State released 50 percent of
I lawai'i County~s share ($18,420). which was appropriated by Ordinance No. 05-1 5.
Un June 30, 2005, the County was notified by the Slate of Hawaii Department of
I Iealth -Disability and Communication Access Board Uiat the remaining limds had
been released.
