WHEREAS, the Salinas Rural Fire District wishes to donate their surplus 1990 Type III Engine Brush
Truck to the Hawaii County Fire Department; and
WFIE126AS, this fire apparatus, with an estimated total value of $50,000, is being donated, in honor of
former Salinas Firefighter and past Pa`auilo resident Jack Levitz, to the Pa'auilo Volunteer Fire Company; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.

accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this generous donation.
BF iT FURTHER RIsS®L4$ED that a copy of this resolution and a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr.
Steven E. Negro, Fire Chief, Salinas Rural Fire District, 19900 Portola Drive, Salinas, California 93908,
acknowledging this generous donation.
