RE: Bill 69 (Electrical Code), Bi1170 (Plumbing Code), and Bill 71, Draft 2
(Building Code)
For your information, at the Hawaii County Council meeting scheduled for August 3,
2005, I intend to make a motion to file the following: Bill 69 (Electrical Code), Bill 70
(Plumbing Code), and Bill 71, Draft 2 (Building Code).
After consulting with the Public Works department staff and the Legislative Research
Branch staff, we felt that in light of flaws contained in these bills (for example,
formatting, inconsistent numbering, unclear language, etc.) that the introduction of new
bills are necessary.
I will be introducing at the Public Works and lntergovernmental Relations Committee
meeting scheduled for August 2, 2005 the Electrical Code. The other new bills relating
to the Plumbing Code and Building Code are presently being reviewed and will be
forthcoming.
