Goals: To provide a healthy meal to qualified children of the Summer Fun program
through the DOE Summer Food Service Program.
Objectives: a. Establish a free lunch program at the following sites: Waiakea Uka, Andrews
Gym, Pana'ewa Park, Carvalho Park, Kawananakoa Gym, Hilo Armory, Papa'ikou Gym, Papa'aloa,
Pa'auilo, Honoka'a, Waimea, Kohala, Kekuaokalani Gym, Hale Halawai, Yano Hall, Pahala, Na'alehu,
Mt. View, Pahoa and Shipman Gym. b. 'to have the meals boxed and delivered to the respective sites.
Outcomes or Results: A free food service program was conducted for the six-week Summer Fun
Program at the twenty desired sites. Meals were boxed and delivered to each site and enjoyed by the
youngsters.
