RESOLUTION NO. 146 OS
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF REAL PROPERTY
FROM RONALD ELLIS HOUCHEN, TAX MAP KEY:(3)9-6-018-010.
WHEREAS, RONALD ELLIS HOUCHEN is the owner of real property in Pa`au`au, Ka`Ci,
Hawaii, specifically Tax Map Key:(3)9-6-O18-010, consisting an area of .010 acre, delineated on
Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the subject real property is presently part of Pikake Street and Pakalana Street in
Pahala Village; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Ellis Houchen has graciously donated this property to clear title to the
County of Hawaii as an addition to the Pikake Street and Pakalana Street right-of--way; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County of Hawai `i, may accept gifts or donations of real property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWA[`I, that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the
County of Hawaii accepts the donation of real property, identified as Tax Map Key: (3)9-6-018-010,
consisting of 0.0 ] 0 acre, from Ronald Ellis Houchen, and said donation be made a part of the Pikake
Street and Pakalana Street right-of--way.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Ronald Ellis Houchen.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to (1) the
Honorable Harry Kim, Mayor of the County of Hawaii; (2) Bruce McClure, Director of Public Works;
(3) Ronald Ellis Houchen, P. O. Box 1897, Pahoa, Hawaii 96778; and (4) Gerald Takase, Assistant
Corporation Counsel.
