Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 348, reports as follows:
Communication No. 348, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated
July 5, 2005, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from The Young at Heart Dance Group
from Kamana Senior Center.
The Young at Heart Dance Group has graciously donated $79 to the Department of Parks and
Recreation for program enhancement at the Pu'ueo Community Center/Wainaku Gym Complex.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawai`i County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), Hawai`i County Code, any donation
or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance
shall be submitted to the Council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to The Young at Heart Dance Group from Kamana Senior
Center, c/o Ms. Michi Nagashima, P.O. Box 763, Kea'au, Hawai`i 96749, acknowledging this
generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the $79 donation to the Department
of Parks and Recreation from The Young at Heart Dance Group.
