At the County Council meeting held on June 1, 2005, funding for a swimming instructor, position no. 3901, was removed from the Parks and Recreation's budget and placed into the Contingency Relief account. The Aquatics Division requests that the funding for this position be restored so that additional swimming lessons can be offered at the Kona Community Aquatic Center. As previously instructed by Council Vice Chair Virginia Isbell, we would like to request a waiver from the Finance Committee and have this resolution heard at the Council meeting scheduled for August 17, 2005.
