Keck Observatory in Kamucla. ~fhc sub.jcct parcel was purchased in.Iune 2001, and the real property tax bills were sent to ~hc parcel's legal owner. the California Institute of'l~echnulogy (Caltcch). ~hhercfore, the real property taxes were not paid because the Director of CARA states he was unaware that the organization was not receiving a tax exemption. CARA inuncdiately made arrangements to pay the delinquent taxes, and now requests that the County approve the parcel's lax exempt status as of June 2001, refund overpaid taxes, and adjust the current liscal year's tax bill.
