Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 140-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 140-05, transmitted by Council Member K. Ange] Pilago, via Communication
No. 371.1, dated July 21, 2005, transfers funds as follows:
Prom:
010.101.5101.91.341 Clerk-Council SVC - General $30,000
Contingency Relief
To:
010.161.5163.08.115 Research & Development General $30,000
These discretionary funds from Council District 8 will be used to establish a Kailua Village
Business Improvement District. The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce will assume complete
responsibility for managing the funds to establish the Business Improvement District.
Eric Von Platen Luder of the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce attended the meeting and
provided a brief background of the process to date, as well as a summary of the necessary actions
to complete the process of establishing the business improvement district. He reasserted the
Chamber's commitment to assume the responsibility for managing the funds, as the Council
directs, in order to establish and maintain the business improvement district.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 140-OS
and recommends its adoption.
