SUBJECT: DRAFT BILL TO AMEND CHAPTER 22, DELETING REFERENCES TO
BANNER PERMITS
In May 2002 when the current version of Chapter 22 was adopted, provisions for Banner Permits
were included due to ambiguities of the Sign Code at that time. On March 1, 2005 the County
Council adopted a new Sign Code that now includes a provision for Banner Permits under Section
3-9(a)(l), Hawaii County Code. As a result, the older Banner Permit provisions in Chapter 22 are
no longer need and should be deleted to avoid duplication and confusion.
This Bill deletes Banner Permit provisions and associated references found in Chapter 22.
