I am writing to request the above measures, which were referred to the finance
Committee on July 1 1.2005_ be placed on your agenda for consideration at the earliest
possible date from today.
t believe this is of the utmost importance as it is a viable and immediate means of
addressing the closure of the Hilo Landfill and the impending certainty of trucking waste
to the Pu'uanahulu site. "These measures will at the very least reduce the amount of waste
that will need to he trucked while an appropriate Waste Reduction Technology is planned
and implemented.
