Thank you for giving us the opportunity to express our concerns.
Good morning, my name is Ernie Matsumura and I am the co-chair of the
Economic Development and Government Affairs Committee of the
BOARD OE DIREOTORG Kanoelehua Industrial Area Association also known as KIAA. KIAA is a
sHANEA6URAMEN non-profit organization made up of over 350 diverse businesses on the East
PRESIDENT Side of the Big Island and represents over 5000 people in our programs.

immediate remedial action. We hear about plans for varying technologies
that may or may not meet the needs of our county's solid waste issue. We
are also fully aware that implementation of any type of technology is not in
the near future. With the closing of the landfill looming, we are concerned
that the remaining, albeit temporary, solution is to haul all rubbish to the
Kona Landfill. This will bring a multitude of negative impacts to our
community as a whole.
We want to be assured that large public transport vehicles are available to
accept private collector's load to haul to Kona and that plans for
commercial rubbish arc ready for implementation to avoid devastating
economic losses to the small businesses in our association'?
