TESTIMONY: IN SUPPORT OF RESOLUTION 153-05:
Supports Efforts to Rehear En Banc the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals' Decision
that the Admission Policy of the Kamehameha Schools is Racially Discriminatory.
{Governor Lingle through Attorney General Mazk J. Bennett requests the support of all
four County Councils in the State of Hawaii in its efforts to reverse the August 2, 2005,
decision and judgement (sic) in Doe v. Kamehameha Schools/Bemice Pauahi Bishop Estate, C.A.

Thank you very much for allowing several of our faculty, our High School Principal, and me to speak
today. This is very much appreciated.
We believe that your support of this resolution would be most appropriate inasmuch as the initial decision
of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, made by a panel of only three judges, was a split decision, and that
the issue is of great significance to thousands of Hawaiians and non-Hawaiians alike.
As Headmaster of Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Campus, as a proud resident of the great state of
Hawaii, and as a multiethnic American, I urge you to consider supporting this resolution.
I am honored and proud that Moses Crabbe and Hannah Pau, Hawaii Campus faculty members, and
Ninia Aldrich, Hawaii Campus High School Principal have agreed to testify in support of this resolution.
