James Y. Arakaki, Chairman
County Council
County of Hawaii
25 Aupuni Street
Hilo, Hawaii 96720
Dear Chairman Arakaki,
Re: Contract No. HA-98/99-2(A), Agreement for Grants and Purchases of Service;
and Contract No. HA-98-1(N), Agreement for Older American Act Funds;
Between the Executive Office on Aging, State of Hawaii, and the Colt_nty of
Hawaii through its Office of Aging.
I received the above referenced contracts from Glenn H. Shiigi, Deputy Corporation
Counsel, indicating that he is unable to approve the contracts as to form and legality until the
enclosed resolution is adopted by the Council. Although you have already signed the contracts
on behalf of the council, the resolution still needs to be approved.
Enclosed with the resolution are copies of the contracts. The contracts award state and
federal funds to the Office of Aging to carry out its Area Plan on Aging. The Office of Aging's
plan maintains and enhances local service delivery systems providing comprehensive services
and employment opportunities for the elderly of Hawaii Comity.
Please route the approved resolution back to Pauline Fukunaga of the Office of Aging.
Thank you very much. ~~~Q
Sincerely, CJaoa DIa!~GIISi.---
