Aloha Chair Jacobson and Committee Members!
My only "advice" to you as you discuss what should go into the RFP
for a waste reduction technology, is to be sure that it is a proven
technology. That's of utmost importance. There are many schemes
that sound absolutely fabulous, but are not yet really working -
anywhere well and for an extended time that will prove the viability.
As to private monies or our monies -that's up to you. In the long '
run, we, the taxpayers will pay for it. Maybe it's cheaper interest
for the County to sell bonds to do the work? I'm not sure. You have
experts who will advise you.
Remember, there is no magic silver bullet. (And I wish there were!!)
Glad this is up for your discsussion and decision-making. Good luck!
