Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 134-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 134-05, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 12] by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 358, dated July 8, 2005, authorizes the payment of
funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year for two wheel loaders, one steer
loader, one hydraulic excavator, three open top refuse trailers, and one truck tractor.
The Department of Environmental Management wishes to enter into afive-year lease agreement
with purchase options for two wheel loaders, one steer loader, one hydraulic excavator, three
open top refuse trailers, and one truck tractor. Funds would be budgeted in future fiscal years to
cover the anticipated costs.
Barbara Bell, Director of Environmental Management, explained that the estimated cost For the
aforementioned equipment is about $300,000 or $3 ] 0,000, which will be budgeted in future
fiscal years in the Operating Budget. Ms. Bell also added that this measure is authorizing the
Mayor to enter into afive-year lease agreement with purchase options for the equipment, and it
will take approximately two years for the equipment to get here, as the trailers are quite unique.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 134-05
and recommends its adoption.
