SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 20, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY
CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION) RELATING TO LITTERING AND REFUSE
DISPOSAL
Dear Mayor Kim,
At the July 27, 2005 meeting of the Environmental Management Commission, a motion was made and
unanimously passed, in support of the enclosed Ordinance.
The Department of Environmental Management has worked closely with the Prosecutor's Office in
amending the Penalty section to strengthen enforcement of illegal dumping.
